It's a WordPress manual upgrade work. As I wrote in my blog about the WordPress 2.1.1 Vulnerabilities, the historical and the quick fixes, sort story of it was quite the same. Got her blog in 2.1.1 version, never updated to any latest version, got exploited several times thru its holes.
The quick fixes seems make it unsolved, since the attacker still got his way around to do another attack. So the only canches taken.

Manual upgrade is quite tricky, when you've got plenty plugins installed already. It would be alot more simpler when you need it to be upgraded into the latest version, 'coz there's a plugin to do it in an easier way. This blog's case was, the owner need it to be upgraded into 2.3.3. version. Not the latest. Considering some plugins installed won't worked at 2.5.1

Tricky, but it's done eventually.
