Get Competitive Advantage of Exchange Hosting
Jarot, January 29, 2009 12:46 am. Have you guys heard about exchange hosting? You know, Microsoft Exchange Server that being purchased as a hosted service from a number of providers.

Oh, maybe my first question should be.. Have you guys ever heard about Microsoft Exchange Server?
Well, some of us knew it, some don 't. So it 's always worth a defining moment, and when it comes to define stuff, where else better than wikipedia? Alrite, here 's what it is,
Microsoft Exchange Server is a messaging and collaborative software product developed by Microsoft. It is part of the Microsoft Servers line of server products and is widely used by enterprises using Microsoft infrastructure solutions. Exchange's major features consist of electronic mail, calendaring, contacts and tasks; support for mobile and web-based access to information; and support for data storage.
What 's so Great About it?
When I started this discussion with some of web developer colleagues of mine - at some evening, sitting together having a cup of coffee at a coffee cafe around the corner - one of 'em said,
"Well I 'm just a web developer, we all are, how this Exchange Server would do me - or us - any good?"
To be truly honest, I 'm having a blank moment of that very second. He got the point. Although, one part of his words still bothers me - as web developer is not just a "just" - but still, he got the point. Why would this Exchange Server do us any good, as the most busiest of us is having a dedicated server, and that's more than enough.
Okay, blank moment is gone as in a sudden something shoot the silence - another dude sitting next to me,
"Well it may not be this time, but someday we 'll find it useful. That would be - you know - the time when a client come to us in need of a website, and a demand of a server that enables his site to offer comprehensive messaging services for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), small office/home office (SOHO) businesses, and individual information workers."
..And this dude, totally got the core point.
Flexible Business Modeling
Based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, this messaging solution provides tools for flexible business modeling. You can offer a broad range of services that go from basic e-mail up to higher value services, such as providing additional storage, hosting personal domains, and calendars. Exchange Server 2007 SP1 brings a rich set of new technologies, features, and services to this release of the solution. Exchange Server 2007 SP1 is built on the foundation of RTM, and added additional usability, performance, and scalability enhancements. That 's according Microsoft TechNet.

Alexa Rank Stats Lack Updates – A Possible Bug?
Jarot, January 13, 2009 3:11 pm. Most advertisers used pagerank andd alexa rank for their basic calculation of one site's value. How a site may drive 'em traffic and boost their conversion. Yeah you of all people should know this one already. So pagerank and alexa rank becoming some sort of things to fight for, for most publishers. If you 're one of those webmasters that consider pagerank and alexarank is a waste of time, you can disregard my last statement. That's just not for you.
Another Lack of Updates?
Although there 're some lack of update of Alexa stats almost all the time, I just found out - exactly just now - that there 's this weird difference of update results in one alexa widget between the others. Not sure if you guys notice this one already, as I always thought that it's just another lack of updates, the 120 x 65 badge is several days behind the other badges.
Here 's today's screenshot
This screenshot taken on January 13, 2009.
Or is it a Bug?
As you may 've already notices too that those buttons above calling a different source of data. You may wanna take a look at that javascript code above, one that I highlite with blue circle?
Well, maybe it's just another lack updating. Just exactly the way pagerank did on some of their Data Center.
Most Updated One
I 'm still concern though, in order to give your advertiser the best stats, you may need to change the badge into the most recent stat as possible. The most updated one.
My suggestion in this point, use others instead of that 120 x 65 button.

Sunday oh Sunday..
Jarot, October 26, 2008 12:22 pm. Sunday. This one day of a week is considered a non-working day in many countries of the world, and are part of "the weekend".
A non working day.
I should 've have one of that. To be precise, I should 've have one Sunday, someday.
Call me Crazy!
I work at home. It started by the time I woke up, and it ends when I felt asleep. Programming and Designing projects came to my desk almost 5 times per week. Never excluded this one day of a week as a non business day before, so yeah, I work on Sunday.
I did re-scheduling sometimes, but I never thought I 'm gonna need this Sunday on my life.
I just realized, I need one.
I 'm not sure this writing mean something, just shouting out what's inside my head. It's pointless, maybe. Whatever.
And then..
I was having this wonderful rest today! Never felt this good before. Head and body refreshed! Oh yeah.. Me, definitely need a sunday.

WordPress 2.6.1 Dangerous Vulnerabilities, Upgrade to 2.6.2 NOW!
Jarot, September 26, 2008 7:16 am. So you guys still on 2.6.1 version? Well, be aware. There 're 2 vulnerabilities marked as dangerous as it would allow attacker to reset the password of another user.
Stefan Esser of suspekt.org recently warned developers of the dangers of SQL Column Truncation and the weakness of mt_rand().
With his help, WordPress team worked around these problems and were releasing WordPress 2.6.2, last September 8, 2008. Yeah, I know, i 'm a bit late to write this, but it's always better be late then not knowing at all, right?
Should I upgrade?
If you allow open registration on your blog, you should definitely upgrade. With open registration enabled, it is possible in WordPress versions 2.6.1 and earlier to craft a username such that it will allow resetting another user’s password to a randomly generated password. The randomly generated password is not disclosed to the attacker, so this problem by itself is annoying but not a security exploit. However, this attack coupled with a weakness in the random number seeding in mt_rand() could be used to predict the randomly generated password. Stefan Esser has already release details of the complete attack, both for SQL Column Truncation and the weakness of mt_rand(). The attack is difficult to accomplish, but its mere possibility means, upgrading to 2.6.2 is recommended.

Jarot, August 10, 2008 11:21 am. You guys might've heard people mentioned about RSS almost everywhere. RSS this RSS that, RSS here RSS there..
What so great about it?
As it's regularly asked question and thought it might be worth putting together a page to define RSS and hopefully shed some light on the topic.
Wanna to keep up to date with the latest posts on Djarot.com?
We have a number of ways that you can subscribe to this site and receive updates. The main one that our readers use is our RSS feed. But what is RSS?
What the heck is RSS?
RSS is a technology that is being used by millions of web users around the world to keep track of their favorite websites.
In the ‘old days’ of the web to keep track of updates on a website you had to ‘bookmark’ websites in your browser and manually return to them on a regular basis to see what had been added.
The problems with bookmarking
- You as the web surfer had to do all the work
- It can get complicated when you are trying to track many websites at once
- You miss information when you forget to check your bookmarks
- You end up seeing the same information over and over again on sites that don’t update very often
Well, RSS Changes Everything
